For reviewers

Reviewer guidelines

Practical guidance for a fair, constructive, and confidential assessment of JCMR submissions.

01

Accept only suitable reviews

Review a manuscript only when it matches your expertise and you can complete the work. Decline promptly if it is outside your field or you cannot provide a careful report.

02

Keep the submission confidential

Do not share the manuscript, data, review invitation, or editorial correspondence. Do not upload unpublished material to public AI tools or use it for another purpose.

03

Declare conflicts and review fairly

Inform the editor of any personal, professional, or financial conflict. Assess the work objectively, based on its relevance, methods, evidence, originality, and clarity.

04

Write a useful report

Give specific, respectful, and actionable comments. Separate essential concerns from suggestions, avoid identifying yourself in comments, and send your recommendation privately to the editor.
